Onboard have been working tightly with snowboarder Jake Blauvelt and the guys at Friday Productions as exclusive pan-European media partners on the highly anticipated release of Jake’s two-year project, Naturally. Today, the movie has gone live, and marks the culmination of a close partnership with Jake and Friday that stretches back several years, beginning when we were asked to support the initial Naturally webisode project three years ago. Of course, as Jake’s one of the planet’s sickest natural terrain freestylers, we immediately went all in and Friday were keen to work with us again when they had the chance to take the concept to another level this time around.
2013’s Naturally charts two winters in the life of Jake and his tight army of cohorts (Eric Jackson, Kazu Kokubo, Fredi Kalbermatten and Shayne Pospisil) as they pop powder pillows and send it to the moon on some natural terrain features in Japan, North America and Europe that will make your jaws hang. That’s not to say that this is your standard banger fest set to music. If you can appreciate the nuances of a good ol’ fashioned powder turn on a snowboard, you’ll certainly dig this too.
As well as exclusivity on the movie and its teasers, we supported Naturally with a full print feature in issue 139, a succession of pre-release hyping throughout the production process, and culminated with our video interview with Jake on the project, which featured some exclusive footage from the film.
We’re stoked to announce that it’s finally out there for all to watch, for free, till October 20 on onboardmag.com. The movie’s off the chain. Watch it here:
