Factory Media appoints James Smurthwaite

Factory has appointed a new content creator for Dirt 

James Smurthwaite, 23, is a recent graduate from the MA Magazine Journalism course at City University. He has previously written for MoreDirt, Cycling Weekly and MBR Magazine. He brings with him years of mountain biking experience including organising downhill races in the South West.
 
James says: “It still feels surreal to be working for the publication I read as a teenager. As a fan, I was disheartened when Dirt went out of print, now on the team I’m convinced that the future is bright for Dirt online.”
“James injects a massive amount of energy into the team. His knowledge and enthusiasm for digital publishing, and his love for the Dirt brand, has meant he’s immediately fitted in and is already making a significant difference. He’s enabling the loved Dirt personality and content created by Mike and Steve to flourish, whilst coming up with new ideas and engaging content to keep the internet monster fed. 
It also looks like he has a lot of experience in getting Dirty too.”
