Factory Media announce the launch of the Whitelines 100 – Buyers Guide

The Whitelines 100 Buyer Guide highlights the top 100 snowboard products on sale in the UK market.

The Whitelines 100 Buyers’ Guide highlights the top 100 snowboard products on sale in the UK market. Each of the products has been has been picked by a panel of experts and comes with the official Whitelines seal of approval. Supporting the launch of the Whitelines 100 we have exclusive in-store POS activations and on-site branding support from our client base.

Whitelines do the research

As well as the top 100 snowboard products the guide contains reviews, detailed buying advice and interviews with outerwear designers, binding builders and a sneak peak inside a snowboard factory. All of this is designed to make readers’ research as thorough as possible. The jargon has been simplified to keep things easy, but we haven’t skimped on the detail, so readers’ can get as geeky as they want about shape, flex, profile, materials and all the other things that go into making a board.

The Background

Whitelines have produced a annual Buyers’ Guide for a number of years now, but we decided to change the format to cater to the changes in readers’ habits. Whitelines 100 Editor, Tristan Kennedy explains more:

“With the Whitelines website growing massively and increasing numbers of snowboarders going online for their gear reviews, we wanted our guide to focus on the strengths of the printed medium – namely in-depth features and large glossy photos.

Rather than offering bite-sized reviews of hundreds of bits of kit, we’ve highlighted what we think are the 100 best snowboard products on sale in the UK, allowing us to go into greater depth with our reviews.

Each of the 100 chosen products has been beautifully shot by Whitelines senior snapper Dan Medhurst in an unconventional setting. The resulting photographs really stand out on the printed page.

We are distributing Whitelines 100 “rosettes” to shops to stick on each of the 100 products both in store and online, allowing readers to easily identify which boards, boots, bindings and accessories have earned Whitelines’ seals of approval. This will also help UK snowboard retailers.
As well as our print magazine, we have developed the gear section of the Whitelines website and produced a greater number of video reviews to cater for our growing online audience. The idea is to use the strengths of each platform to create the best possible gear guide for our readers.”
