In July 2014 Factory Media took to the glistening waves of Lagos, Portugal with 24 of the leading luminaries in media.
For the fifth year in a row we flew in our infamous Polish chef Ralph from his latest project in Sweden to cater for our 5 star Farmhouse. Trained by Jamie Oliver and a law unto himself on the dance floor as well as the kitchen, Ralph did not disappoint.
An early flight set the scene for very little sleep over the following week. Who needs sleep when you have waves to ride, sea-kayak’s to tackle, cocktails to consume and more pool inflatables than you know what to do with? Fortunately we knew what to do with them… pile them all on one person and launch that person down a slip’n’slide, obviously.
The surf conditions couldn’t have been better; Sagres beach had 3 foot waves suitable for all disciplines which, combined with an ace instructor from Funride Surfcamp whose enthusiasm set everyone out to impress him, meant that even beginners found a natural affinity with the board. Every single person stood up and caught their own wave, proving that action sports are for everyone.
Once the sun had set on the waves we took to the Farmhouse for long warm evenings filled with mouth-watering meals, old school drinking games and even a cheeky ‘sample’ salsa lesson. Three hours later, with undiscovered talent exploding from unsuspecting places, we found ourselves in a slightly sweatier but equally masterful version of Strictly Ballroom. Having honed our skills to perfection, the next evening was spent proving just that to the locals in Lagos town, where an assortment of hats, fake tattoos and even a snake on our Creative Director’s head made for a truly unforgettable evening.
New skills, new bonds and new memories, which were all captured by Factory’s very own Creative Director in a stunning HD photo book, so that even those memories which we can’t remember may be cherished.
PADDLE PADDLE PADDLE!!!
