Factory Media proudly presents the Cooler x O’Neill Ambassadors; Dasha Love, Maria Pizzeria, Suzi Kemp and Jess Piper!
Cooler has partnered with O’Neill on this exciting new project to showcase O’Neill’s street collection to Cooler’s unique and stylish audience.
The ambassadors are a new breed of aspirational and inspirational multi-taskers – Dasha and Maria have graced Cooler’s pages many times as interns, photographers, online gurus whilst Jess designs Man Up Girl!, one of the most exciting new skate inspired labels around and Suzi is a ridiculously talented illustrator who’s previously worked with the likes of Heroin skateboards and i-D online.
Dasha, Jess, Maria and Suzi will be a major part of the Cooler site, blogging about their latest projects, sharing their inspirations on our instagram, checking out the latest O’Neill products for our readers and starring in home-made phone video edits (turned into urban avant-garde master pieces with the help of Maria’s famous gifs).
The ambassadors are in a huge shoot in the Spring/Summer issue of Cooler out now.

The PPA Awards are the most coveted in the magazine industry, showcasing excellence, rewarding innovation, and providing the benchmark by which UK publishing judges itself.
The Writer of the Year award recognises excellence in style and content from consumer magazine writers in print and/or online.
Tristan is in great company in this category, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Michael Hodges (Time Out) and Giles Coren (Esquire).
Whitelines Editor Ed Blomfield is delighted Tristan has been shortlisted, adding “Snowboarding is a young, dynamic sport that many are passionate about, but few can truly express via the printed page. Tristan Kennedy is one such writer.”

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

/’fe,nam/ A person who is outstandingly talented; of phenomenal ability or promise
Are you the next skate, BMX or mountain bike legend? You could be about to find out, as Red Bull launches Red Bull Phenom, a search for the hottest new action sports stars.
The competition invites would-be athletes to submit a 60 second video of themselves pulling off their best moves in their chosen discipline — skate street, BMX street and mountain bike slopestyle. The videos will then be judged on talent, performance and style by a team of super judges who are all icons in their sports — BMX’s Mike Escamilla, freestyle mountain bike pioneer Richie Schley and skate’s Steve Caballero.
The six ‘phenom’ finalists per discipline will receive a once-in-a-lifetime all-expenses paid trip to the X Games where they will compete against each other for a chance to have their own video profile produced by Red Bull. For mountain bike slopestyle tricksters, this will be a trip to X Games Munich in June while BMX street and skate street competitors will go to X Games Los Angeles, Calif. USA in August.
Comments Steve Caballero: “Our industry has exploded and there are so many riders working their way up the ranks. Red Bull Phenom is your chance to get noticed!”
The competition is open to non-pros between the ages of 13 and 19. All you have to do to enter is upload your video to YouTube using the key words “Red Bull Phenom” and then submit the video link and other information onto redbullphenom.com. Full entry details and rules can also be found on the website.
MTB slopestyle entries are open from April 8th to May 20th.
Skate street and BMX street entries are open from April 8th to June 17th.

ABOUT THE JUDGES
Mike “Rooftop” Escamilla started riding BMX in 1990 at age 11. Since then he has grown up in the pages of magazines like Ride BMX, Details, Playboy, Complex and others, helping the sport to grow. Ride Magazine voted him one of the most influential riders of the 90s.
Steve Caballero is a skate vert legend known for pioneering difficult tricks and for setting the long-standing record for the highest air achieved on a halfpipe. In 1999, Thrasher Magazine named Caballero the “Skater of the Century”.
Richie Schley is a pioneer of the mountain bike free ride movement who has continued to pave the way for young rippers and the free ride scene. Partnerships with Whistler Blackcomb and Rotwild are proof that he is still a force in the mountain bike world.

DirtTV expands for 2013
In line with the growth and increased interest in Enduro racing, in 2013 DirtTV is taking it’s world class race coverage seen in the downhill over to cover the newly formed Enduro World Series.
The Dirt and Mpora team have worked closely with Chris Ball and the Enduro Mountain Bike Association to deliver a package of content that will tell the story of Enduro in this inaugural year. Bringing together some of the best mountain biking from all over Europe and the US, we have no doubt that the growth of the discipline will be aided by DirtTV’s commitment to high quality productions.
Maintaining its standing within the DH race scene, DirtTV will cover both DH and Enduro, along with building a new series of films based on riding technique and improvement. We will work with Rob and John Parkin of Orpheus Productions, and their investment in the next level of technology and equipment will ensure users will get the best coverage possible.
Mpora will maintain the exclusive hosting of all DirtTV’s content and this will no doubt be embedded by all the major websites in mountain biking around the world. Factory Media Launches Outside Times
Tuesday, February 26th, 2013
Tuesday, 26th February 2013, Factory Media is proud to announce the launch
of its latest website, outsidetimes.com. The Outside Times will become Factory
Media’s 29th website within Europe’s largest action sports network.
Outsidetimes.com – Push yourself. Outside.
An introduction from the editor:
The Outside Times is a new adventure multisport website aiming to stoke the fires in
all of us looking for the next big challenge outdoors. Our aim is to bring you a range
of different sports and events to get you out there and into it in the outdoors.
We don’t think that we should have to choose. We’re not just runners, hikers or
cyclists, we’re outside people, happy to give it all a go. Sure, we have sports that we
love and go back to for our regular fix, but we’re always on the look-out for something
new to string our bows.
We’re not going to get all poetic and teary-eyed about things. The simple fact is that
doing things outside is fun and inspiring. It’s better than sweating away on a treadmill
at a faceless gym somewhere staring at the walls.
We aim to cover it all, and to inspire you to push yourself outside. From training tips
for your first trail race to preventing chafing on an ultra marathon. From finding out
where you can race 200 other guys down a snow-covered ski slope to hearing about
what it feels like to climb some of the world’s biggest mountains, if you can do it
outside, we’re interested. And hope you will be too.
Site Coverage
